The primary goal of any workout is to fatigue the muscles in order to stimulate growth in the minimum amount of time. Utilizing our patented, robotically-controlled resistance technology we work your muscles using very slow and controlled movement, combined with resistance that is exactly proportional to your strength curve. This means your muscles are continually working against tension during our workouts, which causes them to fatigue quickly and deeply. In about 90 seconds per compound movement, your muscles will be rendered momentarily useless as they reach the point of failure. This level of deep fatigue, known as “muscle inroad”, tells your body that it must improve and get stronger.  

Our robotically controlled resistance is crucial for three main reasons:

#1 Safety – Uncontrolled, excessive force will cause injury, period! Our machine relies only on the amount of force produced by the user and adapts to that in a very controlled way. The resulting force produced by the machine is 100 percent dependent on the user, greatly reducing the risk of injury. We rely on a process called “neural inhibition” that every human naturally possesses. Neural inhibition is our brain’s way of keeping ourselves safe on a subconscious level. Thus, it is physically impossible for you to input excessive force that could lead to potential injuries into our smart machines.

#2 Momentum – With our smart machines, we eliminate all momentum from your muscle movements, which is key for achieving efficient and effective muscle inroading. Momentum partially unloads the targeted muscles and does not allow for constant time under tension. This causes premature rest and makes the movement less efficient.

#3 Immediate Biofeedback – Our machines have a clear and simple digital graph that shows users information about what they’re doing, making it easier to concentrate on each movement.  By having this biofeedback available, your muscles work harder and safer as a result.

To understand how our 20 minute workouts can be so short yet so effective, we need to understand the relationship between volume, or duration, and intensity in exercise. Volume and intensity are inversely related, meaning that if one is at a high level, the other must be at a proportionally low level. For example, if you jog for an hour, that is a high volume workout, but must also be low intensity because it is impossible to maintain intensity over a long period of time. On the other hand, an exercise that is high intensity, such as sprinting, can only be done at a low volume or duration. The same rules apply for strength training.

It is physically impossible to train hard AND long, so you must choose whether you want a short, intense workout or a long, less intense (and thus less effective) workout. At QuickHIT Fitness Labs, we provide very short, very intense workouts that safely work your entire body in just 20 minutes.

Utilizing our top-of-the-line machines with robotically controlled resistance, your muscles cannot rely on a boost from momentum, so they are forced to work harder. Thanks to our technology, your muscles work against continuous tension and will fatigue quickly and deeply. This tells your body that it must get stronger, since it could not handle the load of this workout. This signal is the main purpose of our workouts- we want to work your muscles to failure so that your body knows it must get stronger.

So, why only on to two workouts per week?

As mentioned, our workouts completely fatigue your muscles so that your body adapts and gets stronger. But, these changes don’t happen overnight. In general, most people require 72 hours for their body to recover and begin making adaptations after a high-intensity workout. If you workout with us more than once or twice a week, you may not give your body enough time to recover between workouts, and risk overtraining. Overtraining can lead to a fitness plateau or even injury. Since we know that you reach muscle inroad during every exercise with us, you need to take more rest days between your workouts to give the body adequate time to recover.

Think about driving a car cross country versus flying in a plane. Both means of transportation will get you from A to B, but an airplane will get you there in a fraction of the time and is much safer to boot.
